ESTA på dansk

Located on the border of New York and Canada, you can find the most breathtaking waterfall in the United States. If you’re traveling to New York, you really shouldn’t miss one of the seven natural wonders of the world, Niagara Falls State Park .

Niagara Falls is located in western New York on the Niagara River. It forms the border between the United States and Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. If you are traveling near Buffalo, New York, Niagara Falls is just 20 miles away.

Access

Approx. 30 million people visit Niagara Falls State Park each year, and for good reason. Whether you want to take a day trip or visit the area for a few days, there is plenty to see and do. As with any New York State park, there is an admission fee to visit Niagara Falls. Although there are various tour packages available, one of the most purchased is the Empire Pass card. For an $80 fee, you have unlimited all-day entry to most New York State Park-operated facilities, including beaches, trails, and forests.

But this fee doesn’t include unique attractions like the Maid of the Mist, the Niagara Falls boat ride (be careful, you’ll get wet!) or a helicopter ride over the water. For an additional fee, you can purchase these unforgettable ways to see Niagara Falls.

Niagara Falls State Park

At Niagara Falls State Park you will find a Visitors Center, gift shop, museums and nature trails. Spending a full day won’t be a problem at Niagara. Why not choose to walk around and perhaps even enjoy a picnic on one of the tables located within the park? For more details on Niagara Falls State Park offerings please visit.

Attractions with the best views

There are countless attractions available on and near the falls. If you’re visiting during the late spring, summer, and early fall, you can opt to take a ride on the Maid of the Mist boat tour. It will take you right to the base of the falls. For more information about this iconic boat trip, visit . Or if you’re really into adventure, you can take a trip to the Hurricane Deck at the Cave of the Winds. This walkway is made of wood and can become slippery due to the mist of the waterfall, and although it is completely safe, it is not an attraction for those who get nervous easily. But to get the best view of Bridal Veil Falls this would be the preferred choice.

Attractions with American history

The Falls played a major role in American history with French, British and American vantage points. If you’re an American history buff, you’ll want plenty of historical information at Old Fort Niagara. It is a place where you can even watch a military performance. For entry fees and tourist information , visit . If Old Fort Niagara doesn’t give you enough historical information, you can also learn about abolitionists and freedom fighters.

Besides the park

Outside the park, you can see murals, live music and theater performances. You can even visit the outdoor Artpark, which you’ll find at the top of the Niagara River Gorge. If shopping is your thing, then there are many antique shops. There are  fashion outlets in Niagara Falls USA. In case it’s a glass of wine you’re looking for, Niagara Wine Trail, USA specializes in ice cream and fruit wine. If you visit in late summer and early spring, visit one of the local breweries or a local farm for pumpkin picking and mazes.

If you visit Niagara Falls State Park for just one day or many days, you will not be bored. Whether you choose to visit the park for its beautiful waterfalls or choose to stay for several days to soak up all that the State Park and surrounding areas have to offer, it will be a trip you won’t soon forget.
