How to Check US ESTA Status if You Are a Citizen of Denmark

If you already applied for a travel authorization (ESTA Visa) as part of your previous visit to the United States, you might be able to use the same authorization again. Most travel authorizations are valid for 2 years and can be used for multiple visits during this timeframe. Checking your ESTA status

The Electronic System for Travel Authorization will typically return an Application Status within 72 hours. However, you will need the US ESTA website to verify that status. Go to the ESTA homepage, click “Check Existing Applications”, and then “Check Individual status.”Next, enter your passport number, birth date, and application number. Click “I don’t know the ApplicationNumber” if you have not received or can’t locate your application number. Next, enter your passport number and country of citizenship. There are three possible answers to an electronic travel authorization request:

Authorization Approved

Your travel authorization has been approved. You are now authorized to travel to the United States through the Visa Waiver Program. The system will display confirmation of your application approval as well as a payment receipt notice indicating the amount that was charged to your credit card. The travel authorization is not a guarantee of admission to the United States. A Customs and Border Protection officer at the port of entry will make the final determination.

Travel not Authorized

The Visa Waiver Program does not allow you to travel to the United States. The Department of State may be able to grant you a visa for your travel. For more information on applying for visas, please visit the United States Department of State Web Site. This does not mean that you are denied entry to the United States. This response does not prohibit you from traveling to the United States under Visa Waiver Program. A payment receipt notice is also displayed in the system. This shows the amount that was charged to your credit card in order to process the US ESTA application.

Authorization Pending

Because your request for travel authorization has not been processed immediately, we are currently reviewing it. This does not mean that there are any negative findings. Usually, a determination is available within 72 hours. Return to this website and click on "Check ESTA Status". To check the status of your application, you will need to provide your application number, passport number, and birth date.

What if I want to submit a group of US ESTA Denmark applications?

Follow these guidelines:
  1. Make a group contact person
    Select “Group of Applications” to submit multiple applications. The Group Contact Person will be created. The following information will be required by the applicant when applying for ESTA authorizations for a group of travelers. In this instance, the Group Contact Person is:

    Name of the family
    First (Given).Name
    Date of birth
    Email address

  2. Manage Group of Applications
    The Group Contact Person can choose to either “Add New Applicant” (to start the process for a brand new applicant) or to “Add Unpaid Apply” (to add an unpaid applicant to your organization).
  3. Make payment
    If two or more applicants are submitted in a group, the group can be paid within seven days of its creation. After seven days, the Group ID and applications will not be accessible. The Group Contact Person will need to submit them again.
  4. Check your Status
    The Group Contact Person can also check the status of all applications within a group. The processing of any remaining applications will not be impacted if there is a “Pending” response to any group application. The total fee amount will not be indicated on the payment receipt until all applications have been approved or denied.
